Terms and Conditions

The  terms and conditions for music lessons, seen below,  has information regarding the lessons including enrolments, accounts and absenses.

Lessons:

These are generally once a week during the school term at a time to suit. There is a choice between 20 and 30 minute lessons. I am open to longer lessons and holiday lessons, so please ask. Adult students can continue lessons in school holidays if this suits.

Enrolments:

This can be done at any time using the enrolment form here. I can start lessons when it suits, even if it is in the middle of a term. However, once you enrol for lessons the lesson slot is reserved for you and you will be on my lesson list for the remainder of the current year unless you let me know otherwise. See below for stopping lessons.

Accounts:

Payments are be  made  by the school term in 1 lot or 2x 1/2 term lots,  your choice. Discuss with me alternative arrangements if this suits better. These need to be made at the start of each term and 1/2 term.  Adult students who are not working by the school term can pay in 5 or 10 week blocks.

For lessons by the school term there will be a late fee of $5 if all the term lesson amount is  not paid within the  school term ie by the last Friday of term. If payments are very late you may be subject to debt collection.

I will send out a general account when lessons start, at the start of a new year and reminders in each term.

Stopping Lessons:

If you want to stop lessons, do so at the end of a school term or block of lessons. Once a term or block of lessons has commenced then  full  payment is required for the term or block. However lessons can be stopped at any stage during the  term or block but the full payment is still required.

Absenses:

Reschedule:

If  you are going to be away for any reason eg appointments, holidays away, sickness, something else at your allotted lesson time then let me know before 8.00 pm the day before your lesson at the latest. This gives me time to rearrange school timetables if applicable. We will reschedule your lesson to another time during the term or in the next school holidays.

Missed Lesson Options:

If you contact me after 8.00pm the day before your lesson then the lesson will need to be paid for as you have reserved this time for you or your child in my weekly schedule.

However  there are  missed lesson options for you to choose from if you email or text me before 2 pm ( lessons at my home ) or 8 am ( lessons at a school ) of the day of your lesson.

Tell me which option you would like at the time of advising me so it can be set up.

They are:

1.  Zoom lessons:

If you are mildly sick or just unable to get to an in-person lesson then we can connect on zoom for your normal home lesson times or an after school time ( within 2 days ) for normal lessons at a school.  I can send you my meeting ID and passcode at the time.

2. Work for Review:

I will send an email relating to work you are currently on. This may include images, audio, video.

Then you send me a audio/video of any  pieces, scales, technical work, compositions, improvisation that you are working on from lessons and anything extra from the email.

I will review and send you feedback.

Please note that you need to send work for review within 2 weeks of the email after the missed lesson.

Late Notice:

Notification after 2 pm ( home lessons ) or 8 am ( school lessons )  of your lesson day  is late notice and therefore there will be no missed lesson options or rescheduling.

If I cancel a lesson for any reason then the lesson can be rescheduled to another time that week or  a time to suit during the term or school holidays.

If you have any questions regarding anything relating to these terms and conditions for music lessons please message me via an email or mobile number if known or  contact me here.  I will get back to you as soon as possible.
